Therefore, we have an extensive list of outstanding professionals comprised of Board Certified Radiologists as well as subspecialty musculoskeletal and neurologic radiologists. In addition to Advantage Diagnostics Board Certified Radiologists, we also offer subspecialty radiology interpretations through our partnership with Specialty Teleradiology. Specialty radiologists are available to support all of your imaging needs. Reports are provided with unequivocal, concise findings. Referring physicians are encouraged to call our radiology staff with any questions about patient reports, as well as inquiries regarding potential diagnostic studies for their patients.

James V. Zelch, M.D.

James V. Zelch, M.D., Board Certified Radiologist

Dr. James V. Zelch is a creative visionary and a realist. For more than two decades, he has been associated with some of the finest institutions in the medical world including the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is a Board Certified Radiologist and is considered an expert in the development and operation of MRI centers. He also has the unique experience of working in the military, the VA system, community hospitals and the outpatient arena which accounts for his global approach to the present and the future of medical imaging.

Dr. Zelch became interested in MRI during the 80’s when he served as a consultant to both Picker and Technicare Corporations. Since then, he has assumed a leadership role in the development of MRI technology and community MRI centers.

Consulting for independent MRI centers and community hospitals around the world has established James Zelch as an expert in the field. He has consulted in India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and across the United States.

He was a member of the editorial board of the Journal of MR as published by Diagnostic Imaging. He has independently developed a dynamic MRI video, Joints in Motion.

Larry McNamee, M.D.

Dr. Larry McNamee serves as Medical Director for Specialty Teleradiology. Dr. McNamee has extensive experience in oncologic PET interpretations, as well as MRI and CT. Dr. McNamee completed his Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Prior to completing his Radiology program, Dr. McNamee completed formal training in Hematology and Oncology, and was on the Associate Staff at The Cleveland Clinic. He has given frequent lectures on the merits of PET scanning. His expert radiology skills, combined with a clinical background in medical oncology, provide an important asset to your practice.

Gregory T. Goldstein M.D,

Gregory T. Goldstein, M.D.,Board Certified

Gregory T. Goldstein, MD, DABR is a well-known and respected Chicago based radiologist. After graduating with high honors (AOA) from Rutgers NJ Medical School, Dr. Goldstein completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor, MI. Subsequently he attended an orthopedic and body imaging fellowship through Northwestern Medical School. Dr. Goldstein is board certified by the American Board of Radiology (DABR) and has extensive experience in both Orthopedic and Neurologic Imaging. His peers, patients, legal and insurance professionals, and physicians frequently consult him for his expertise and medical second opinions.

Dr. Goldstein is the Founder and President of MetisMD, a leading radiology consultation company which provides expert second opinion and independent medical imaging reviews for patients, physicians, pharmaceutical companies, and other businesses. Dr. Goldstein has been in private practice since 2001. He currently resides in Chicago with his wife and two children. and CT, at several large Acute Care Hospitals in Lafayette, Indiana. He also previously served as Co-Founder and General Director for InnerVision Advanced Medical Imaging Center, a full-service imaging center with special emphasis on PET/CT imaging.

Michael D. Smith M.D,

Michael D Smith, MD has been practicing radiology for over 20 years. He completed his residency at Northwestern University in 1991, and also a fellowship in magnetic resonance imaging / computed tomography / ultrasound at Medical College of Wisconsin in 1992. He has been in private practice radiology since then, working in various practices in Colorado and the Chicago-land area. Dr. Smith has extensive experience in interpreting musculoskeletal MRI, spine MRI, arthrographic exams, body CT, ultrasound, and all other aspects of general diagnostic radiology. He is well-respected by his peers, and dedicated physician committed to providing the highest level of patient care and radiology services.

Lakshmi Kode Sammarco, M.D.

Dr. Lakshmi Kode Sammarco is a Board Certified Neuroradiologist and Diagnostic Radiologist. Dr. Sammarco graduated from The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1988, and completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 1993 from Case Western Reserve University-MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio in 1993. She also completed a two-year accredited fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroradiology, at the UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, California in 1995. She is board certified in Radiology and has her Certificate of Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology. Although she continues to be a Senior Member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, she is well-versed in all aspects of MRI imaging, CT, CTA including being cardiac CTA certified, NM including cardiac, US, PET, general diagnostic radiology, and some interventional radiology.

Recently, Dr. Sammarco has been the Director of Neuroradiology and Director of MRI Services for a group in Dayton, Ohio with responsibility for 9 MRI scanners in 3 hospitals and 5 imaging centers. She has extensive consulting experience in the planning and development of outpatient imaging centers from site-planning and equipment selection to creating and implementing protocols and patient-specific techniques. Dr. Sammarco has also played a crucial role in marketing, referring physician relations and quality assurance/peer review programs as well as directly supervising ACR accreditation of all the equipment at all the sites where she has participated. Also during her tenure with the group, Dr. Sammarco was a senior partner and involved in all aspects of practice management.

Past experience includes being faculty and staff neuroradiologist at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the University of Maryland Medical System & Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Ward

Dr. Robert Ward M.D.,

Musculoskeletal Imaging

Dr. Robert Ward has trained and worked exclusively with MSK imaging for over 10 years. He completed an MSK Fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, and has continued on with an impressive career in radiology. Dr. Ward currently serves as Chief of Division of Musculoskeletal Imaging at Tufts Medical Center. He is also appointed Director of Medical Education and Assistant Professor of Radiology and Orthopedics at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Ward has authored numerous medical books and publications as well as regular presentations at RSNA. We are proud to offer his extensive MSK experience to our clients.
